Please see below the types of pest issues that we can help with, and the issues that are residents' responsibility.

Pests in your own home or garden

Your responsibility:
Residents are responsible for pest control in their own home and garden.

This includes ants, wasps, bees, rats, mice, and squirrels.

For some pests, you might be able to treat the problem yourself. For other types of pest infestation, you may need professional help.

Your local authority will be able to offer advice and may have a pest control service. Most will charge you for this service. There are also private pest control companies.

Find your local council pest control service

Association's responsibility:
If the pest infestation in your home has been caused by them entering through damage to the fabric of the building such as a hole in the brick work, we will be responsible for completing the necessary repairs to avoid the pests/vermin returning into your home.

In these circumstances, we will need to see the report from your chosen pest control contractor to determine the cause and repairs needed.

Pests in communal areas

Association's responsibility:

We are responsible for pest control in communal areas.

If you’re aware of a pest infestation in a communal area, please let us know and we will arrange for a pest control contractor to deal with the problem. These costs are covered through your scheme’s service charge costs.
